Another feather on Dr. Ghose's cap

Dr. Saroj Ghose, past President of the International Council of Museums and retired Director General of the National Council of Science Museums of India and the designer of Parliament Museum, New Delhi, has been awarded the Padma Bhusan by the President of India in 2007.

Dr. Ghose was also awarded the "National Award for best efforts in Science & Technology popularisation among children for the year 2001". The award, consisting of a cash prize, a memento and citation was given to him in a ceremony in Delhi on 27 February, 2002.

Dr. Shyamalkanti Chakravarti, ex-Director, Indian Museum and National Library and Chairman, INC-ICOM had received the Rashtriya Vikash Jyoti award, 2001 presented by All India Business Development Association, New Delhi for excellence in his chosen field of activities and his contribution to development of museums and culture. At a function in New Delhi on 27th April, 2001 the honour was conferred by Shri Bachi Singh Rawat, Minister of State for Science and Technology, Govt of India.  

Dr. J. Kedareswari, Keeper, Education, Salar Jung Museum was awarded Ph.D. degree from the National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation and Museology of New Delhi for her thesis "Colonial art in Calcutta (1757-1911)". She also received Charles Wallace award for curatorial training in U.K.
